The XSR155 follows Yamaha’s 'Sport
Heritage' design similar to the XSR 700 and XSR 900 that are available in
international markets. It gets a tear-drop shaped tank, a round full-LED
headlamp and full-LED tail lamp along a single-piece seat that adds to its
old-school charm.
Furthermore, the XSR155 sports headlamp
brackets, a redesigned sump guard and a redesigned exhaust plate that has a
pore-like design inspired from retro motorcycles. The bike uses the same
Delta box frame and 155 cc engine that does duty on the R15-V3 and the MT-15.
This unit produces 19 bhp and 14.7 Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox
along with an assist and slipper clutch.
It rides on upside-down forks at the front
along with a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is done by disc brakes
at both ends. However, the Indian-spec model will sport telescopic forks
upfront .
Yamaha has equipped the XSR155 with a single-pod instrument cluster that displays all vital information and gets a distinctive, semi-circle tachometer. The XSR155 is offered in four paint schemes- Premium Grey, White/Red Sports Heritage, Black Elegance and Green Wanderlust.
